This line was derived from C32 (ATCC CRL-1585) by selection for 6-thioquanune resistance.

They are deficient in hypoxanthine-guanine phosphoribosyl transferase (HGPRT-, HPRT-).

Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: Minimum essential medium (Eagle) in Earle's BSS with non-essential amino acids, 90%; fetal bovine serum, 10%; 0.050 mM 6-thioguanine

Subculturing: Subcultivation Ratio: A subcultivation ratio of 1:2 to 1:4 is recommended

Medium Renewal: Twice per week

Remove medium, add fresh 0.25% trypsin solution several minutes until cells detach. Add fresh medium and centrifuge. Resuspend in fresh medium and dispense into new flasks.
