Comments: This line was derived from a radiation induced T cell lymphoma.

Production of IL-2 is stimulated by T cell mitogens.

Peak levels are found in the culture medium after 24 hours of stimulation with either 1% PHA or 20 microgm/ml Con A.

Tested and found negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).

Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: RPMI 1640 medium with 0.05 mM 2-mercaptoethanol, 90%; fetal bovine serum, 10%

Cultures can be maintained by addition or replacement of fresh medium. Start cultures at 2 x 10 exp5 cells/ml Adherent cells can be dislodged by scraping with subsequent resuspension as above.
