Spleen cells were fused with P3-NSI/1-Ag4-1 myeloma cells.

The antibody reacts with glomalin on the surface of hyphae and spores and also on glomalin sloughed from hyphae.

The antibody is slightly cross-reactive with Leptospharia korrea.

Glomalin is a unique fungal protein secreted by the root-dwelling Glomales fungi through hairlike filaments called hyphae. It is found worldwide and it may the primary glue that holds soil together.

The antibody is used for studies on soil structure; it is useful in ELISA assays to detect glomalin on the surface of hyphae and glomalin in root cortical cells.

Propagation: ATCC complete growth medium: RPMI 1640 medium with 2 mM L-glutamine adjusted to contain 1.5 g/L sodium bicarbonate, 4.5 g/L glucose, 10 mM HEPES, and 1.0 mM sodium pyruvate and supplemented with 0.1 mM hypoxanthine and 0.016 mM thymidine, 90%; fetal bovine serum, 10%

Subculturing: Protocol: Cultures can be maintained by the addition of fresh medium or replacement of medium.
